Publication Ethics & Policies
At Network Security Journal, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in our publication process. This page outlines our ethical guidelines and policies to ensure the credibility and quality of our content and to guide our authors, reviewers, and editorial staff.
Editorial Ethics
1. Integrity and Objectivity
- Fairness: Editorial decisions are based on the quality and relevance of the work, without bias or favoritism. We are committed to ensuring that all manuscripts are reviewed fairly and impartially.
- Confidentiality: Manuscripts and their contents are treated as confidential prior to publication. Details of submissions are not disclosed to anyone other than the authors, reviewers, and editorial staff.
2. Conflict of Interest
- Disclosure: Authors, reviewers, and editorial staff must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could affect the objectivity or integrity of their work. This includes financial, personal, or professional conflicts.
- Management: Conflicts of interest will be managed to avoid any undue influence on the publication process. If a conflict of interest is identified, appropriate measures will be taken to ensure impartiality.
Authorship and Contributions
1. Authorship Criteria
- Significant Contribution: All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. Contributions should be clearly stated in the manuscript.
- Consent: All co-authors must provide their consent for publication and be listed in the manuscript. All authors are accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the work.
2. Acknowledgments
- Proper Attribution: Acknowledge individuals or organizations that provided significant assistance or support in the research. Ensure that contributors who do not meet authorship criteria are properly recognized in the acknowledgments section.
Publication Ethics
1. Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication
- Originality: Submissions must be original work and not under consideration or published elsewhere. Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited.
- Citation: Properly cite all sources and ensure that any previously published material is acknowledged appropriately.
2. Research Ethics
- Human and Animal Rights: Research involving human participants or animals must comply with ethical standards and be approved by relevant ethics committees. Provide a statement of ethics compliance in the manuscript.
- Data Integrity: Ensure that data is accurately presented and not manipulated or fabricated. Be transparent about research methodologies and findings.
Review Process
1. Peer Review
- Confidentiality: Reviewers are required to treat manuscripts confidentially and not disclose or discuss the content with others.
- Constructive Feedback: Reviewers should provide objective, constructive feedback to help authors improve their work. Any personal bias or prejudice should be avoided.
2. Handling Misconduct
- Reporting: Any suspected ethical violations, such as plagiarism, data falsification, or conflicts of interest, should be reported to the editorial office.
- Investigation: Allegations of misconduct will be investigated thoroughly. If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions, including retraction of the paper or other sanctions, will be taken.
Post-Publication Ethics
1. Corrections and Retractions
- Errata: If errors are discovered in published articles, corrections will be made promptly. Authors are responsible for notifying the editorial office of any errors.
- Retraction: Articles may be retracted if serious ethical issues are identified post-publication. The retraction will be clearly communicated and documented.
